RAA Recognized By Riverside County Board of Supervisors

Riverside Arts Academy was honored by the Riverside County Board of Supervisors on September 15 as the County began its celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, recognizing the achievements of Mariachi Campana de Riverside and the young musicians representing Riverside on regional and national stages.

Members of Riverside Arts Academy’s staff and Board of Directors were in attendance for the recognition, which celebrated Mariachi Campana’s exceptional 2026 season. The ensemble was named 2026 Mariachi Nationals Champion in Anaheim and earned 3rd Place at the Tucson International Mariachi Conference, where it was also the highest-placing ensemble from California.

The morning also featured a special performance by three of the educators behind RAA’s mariachi programs: Director of Programs & Partnerships Alex Treviño II, and Mariachi Campana Directors Angel Luis Chavez and Yamila De La Rosa. Their performance helped open the County’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebration through the music and traditions at the heart of RAA’s mariachi education.

The recognition offered a meaningful beginning to Hispanic Heritage Month and an opportunity to celebrate the artistry, dedication, and cultural traditions carried forward by RAA’s students and families.

For Riverside Arts Academy, mariachi education is an important part of a broader commitment to providing young people with high-quality music education rooted in artistry, community, and belonging. Through its ensembles and school partnerships, RAA creates opportunities for students across the region to learn, perform, and grow through music.

Riverside Arts Academy extends its gratitude to the Riverside County Board of Supervisors for recognizing Mariachi Campana de Riverside and for celebrating the students, educators, families, and communities behind its accomplishments.

As Hispanic Heritage Month continues, RAA is proud to celebrate the music and traditions that connect generations while giving young musicians the opportunity to carry them forward.
