ANGEL RODRIGUEZ
TRUMPET
Angel Rodriguez is a trumpet performer and music educator based in Southern California. He began his collegiate music studies at Riverside City College, where he studied trumpet with David Pittel and performed in both classical and jazz ensembles. He later transferred to California State University, Northridge, where he earned his Bachelor of Music and studied trumpet with Dr. Erick Jovel. At CSUN, Angel served as principal trumpet of the CSUN Wind Symphony and performed with the CSUN Symphony Orchestra.
Alongside his classical training, Angel has a strong background in mariachi music. He performed with Mariachi Voces de Oro from 2018 to 2025, including performances at the Santa Barbara Bowl and Riverside’s Fox Performing Arts Center. At CSUN, he was a member of Mariachi Aztlán and served as a student director for the university’s mariachi class.
Angel began teaching with Riverside Arts Academy, working with elementary and middle school students in mariachi and instrumental music. He has since returned to RAA as a Teaching Artist, where he enjoys helping young musicians build strong musical foundations, develop confidence, and grow their appreciation for music.
