Ruth Noemy Wheeler

Mrs. Wheeler is a distinguished musician and educator with extensive experience in violin performance, conducting, and music education.
Her academic journey includes studies at the Professional Conservatory Manuel Carrá and the Superior Conservatory of Music in Málaga, Spain, complemented by workshops at The Juilliard School and the New York Conducting Institute. She holds dual Master’s degrees in Violin Performance and Conducting from California Baptist University, where she graduated with the Outstanding Graduate Award in 2010. Mrs. Wheeler has further enriched her expertise through numerous masterclasses across Europe and the United States.
Throughout her career, she has performed with more than twenty European and American orchestras. Notably, she served as Concertmaster of the Corona Symphony Orchestra for fifteen years and has collaborated with renowned artists across multiple genres, including Maxim Vengerov, Natalie Cole, Michael W. Smith, Chris Botti, David Benoit, Michael Cavanaugh, Burt Bacharach, and Mannheim Steamroller, among others.
As a dedicated educator, she established the CBU Symphony Orchestra in 2012, the CBU String Quartet in 2017, and the CBU Concerto Competition in 2018. Over her fifteen years in academia, she has taught a wide array of courses. Among the many concerts she has conducted, a highlight includes the premiere of the outstanding musical Dietrich & Maria in Southern California.
Currently, Mrs. Wheeler serves as the Assistant Conductor of the CBU Symphony Orchestra and as an active faculty member at California Baptist University. She also holds roles as Assistant Conductor of the Corona Symphony Orchestra, Conductor of the Riverside Arts Academy Camerata Strings, Strings Coach at Poly High School, and Violin Instructor in her private studio.
Mrs. Wheeler is the First Place Winner of the 2021 Los Angeles International Conducting Competition and the recipient of the Maestra Award (2025) from the Riverside Arts Academy.
