MARIACHI

Patrick Molina is a dedicated educator and accomplished violinist whose journey—from a small rural community in South Texas to some of the world’s largest concert stages—stands as a testament to his determination, resilience, and lifelong passion for learning.

Growing up in an underserved area with limited access to educational and musical resources, Patrick discovered his love for both music and teaching early on. These formative experiences continue to shape his work, inspiring him to make education and the arts accessible to all.

Patrick is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where he was a member of the prestigious Forty Acres Scholars Program. He studied violin under Dr. Sean Riley and Eric Gratz, earning a Bachelor of Science and Arts in Biology and a certificate from the UTeach Natural Sciences Program. In addition to his instrumental training, he has pursued vocal studies with esteemed vocal coach and opera singer Gualtiero Negrini.

As a Mariachi musician, Patrick has performed with and learned from some of the most renowned ensembles and artists in the genre, including Mariachi Los Galleros de San Antonio, Marco Antonio Solís, Julión Álvarez, Mariachi Internacional de México de Francisco Jara, and Mariachi Sol de México de José Hernández.

As a member of Mariachi Sol de México, Patrick has served as a clinician and adjudicator for festivals across the United States and Mexico and has been part of multiple Latin Grammy-nominated projects.

Bridging classical, contemporary, and traditional music worlds, Patrick draws on his diverse background to empower students to pursue their passions, overcome obstacles, and find their own voice—no matter their circumstances.
