Nestor is a Venezuelan oboist with an impressive 29-year career performing with orchestras and chamber groups. His musical journey began with various ensembles of Venezuela’s National System of Orchestras (El Sistema), through which he participated in numerous national and international tours, collaborating with acclaimed conductor Gustavo Dudamel and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela (OSSBV).

Nestor’s artistry has taken him to an astounding forty-five countries around the world, proudly representing his homeland. His career includes notable artistic residencies at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the Salzburg Festival, and the United Nations Headquarters, all of which have enriched his musical experience. He also performed at the 2011 Latin Grammy Awards alongside Gustavo Dudamel and Calle 13.

As a member of the OSSBV, Nestor actively participated in sectionals, workshops, dress rehearsals, and remarkable concerts under the batons of internationally renowned maestros, including Sir Simon Rattle, Claudio Abbado, Daniel Barenboim, Krzysztof Penderecki, and Gustavo Dudamel, among others. His exceptional musicianship has been featured in recordings released on CD, DVD, and Blu-ray by the prestigious German label Deutsche Grammophon.

Nestor’s talent has also extended beyond Venezuela, where he served as Principal Oboe in Mexico and performed as a substitute in various symphony orchestras.

He completed his Certified Oboe Studies Program in California and earned his Certified Teaching Artist credential through a scholarship awarded by the prestigious Teaching Artist Training Institute in Miami.

In addition to his musical accomplishments, Nestor graduated from the Conservatory of Music, holds a degree in International Studies, and earned a Master’s in Human Rights—reflecting his dedication to global issues and his belief in the power of music as a force for positive change.
