CHRISTOPHER RUBALCAVA
MARIACHI
Christopher Rubalcava is a passionate mariachi educator, performer, and advocate for cultural preservation through music. Based in Southern California, he is fluent in both English and Spanish and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education. His professional focus centers on sharing the rich tradition of mariachi with students of all ages through thoughtful instruction and meaningful community engagement.
Christopher has taught mariachi at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, helping students develop strong musical foundations while fostering pride in their cultural heritage. His teaching philosophy combines high musical standards with a deep respect for the tradition and values behind mariachi, creating classrooms that inspire both artistic growth and cultural connection.
As a performer, Christopher is a member of Mariachi Rams, the official mariachi of the Los Angeles Rams, performing at major NFL events and helping introduce mariachi to broader audiences. He is also the founder and director of Mariachi Corazón de mi Tierra, a professional ensemble serving the Inland Empire and surrounding areas. Known for their authentic sound and heartfelt performances, the group embodies Christopher’s commitment to excellence, tradition, and community.
Through both performance and education, Christopher continues to empower young musicians and bring communities together. He is proud to contribute to the Riverside Arts Academy’s mission of providing accessible, high-quality arts education for all.
